Location:
Worthley Pond is located in Peru, Maine. It is 3 hours from Logan Airport in Boston. The largest local town is Rumford, Maine located 15 miles north. It is also the closest large food store. Worthley Pond is located in the western mountains of Maine approximately 30 miles from the New Hampshire border.
Directions: FROM BOSTON, I-95 north to Maine Turnpike to I-495 to exit #12 Auburn, Maine. Left turn onto route #4 north (through Auburn) to Livermore. Left turn onto route #108 north towards Rumford. Left turn onto road with sign "TO ROUTE 219" (approximately 6 miles after Canton, Maine). This road only turns left as you are headed towards Rumford. It also has a sign to "Worthley Pond." Drive about 1.5 miles to first fork. Take left fork (East Shore Road), for about 1 mile, past Variety Store to large white farmhouse with barn attached on right side (Pond Side) of road. The Farm has a green sign advertising group rentals on barn. The physical address is 153 East Shore Road. The local phone number is 207-562-4653 (outgoing long distance calls by credit card only).

Kitchen equipment and appliances: Microwave, two stoves with ovens, two kitchen sinks, two large refrigerators, toaster oven, mixer with blender attachment, automatic drip coffee pot, coffee mill, 30 cup percolator, standard and larger size cooking pots and serving bowls, dishes, glasses, flatware to serve 16-20, some spices, staples, cooking oil, assorted cookbooks.

The Farm:
The Farm at Worthley Pond is a remodeled 1850 farm, located on 5 acres, nestled in a beautiful mountain valley surrounded by rolling hills. Located on a sparkling clear lake, perfect for all season recreation. Only 40 miles from the Appalachian Trail and the large pikes of the White Mountains, these foot hills offer both beauty and day hiking.

The jewel of the location is Worthley Pond. This sparking clear small lake is perfect for all water recreation and winter snowmobiling. Approximately 5 miles in circumference, Worthley Pond is perfect for sailing, water skiing, fishing and canoeing. Fishing on the Pond is very good with many Trout and Bass taken annually. One day and three day licenses are available by calling 207-287-5230. The Farm At Worthley Pond has a private sand & grass beach access to Worthley Pond with approximately 150 feet of frontage. The Farm At Worthley Pond provides a canoe, paddleboat and row boat.
From the farm house, a slightly inclined lawn leads to the pond. This 2.5 acre lawn is perfect for picnics, softball games, volleyball or croquette. Landscaping is maintained weekly in the summer thus providing both a picturesque and recreational lawn.
The Farm, originally built in 1840, has 17 rooms including 6-8 bedrooms. All rooms have been remodeled and decorated in a country New England style. The fully carpeted facility contains a large family living room with sliding glass doors leading to the lawn. A large modern kitchen plus a smaller but fully equipped second kitchen can accommodate even the largest family reunion. The surprise of the Farm is a "hidden" loft studio apartment, perfect for teenagers or parent's separate living space. The largest space in a combined billiard room and family room, both with windows overlooking the pond. These room were remodeled from the barn with original 1850 "square nails," still visible. These rooms of approximately 700 sq. feet can accommodate a reception of 50 people. The Farm sleeps up to 25 people. Amenities included a sauna and deck hot tub.
Winter offers bountiful recreational opportunities for guests staying at The Farm at Worthley Pond. Three world class ski areas are within 1.5 hour drive, including Sunday River in Bethel, Maine only 45 minutes away. Smaller ski areas of Black Mountain and Mt. Abram are less than 30 minutes away. Cross country ski and snowmobile enthusiasts can enjoy the many trails, which honeycomb the foothills, outside the Farm's front door. A special treat for cross country skiers is Blank Mountain, located just 20 minutes away, where the U.S. Cross Country Ski Team trains.
